Lately, it has looked more like meal prep containers, library books, evening walks, and learning how to enjoy the life I’m building while I’m still building it.

My life lately has looked like walking extra laps around the building during my day job to get my steps in, free youtube dance cardio workouts in my living room, leaning into meal prep recipes that I love, planning a wedding and designing the decor myself, curating home thrift finds, and spending time with those I love, all while making time for client work and building my brand.

Some days are messy. Some days I don’t even open my planner until right before bed. Some days look like early mornings and late nights, but I am taking it one day at a time and relying on the systems and routines that are helping me enjoy the journey. Each of these routines and systems I have built for myself did not happen overnight, and I am still refining them every day.

Growth Can Look Quiet

Growth doesn’t have to be this big, intense life overhaul. In fact, the best changes are the ones that happen gradually because they are more likely to stick. You’re not becoming someone else overnight.

But you are:

building systems

becoming more conscious

creating alignment

slowly designing a life you enjoy living

Tiny Habits Are Shaping Your Identity

These tiny habits that you build into your day, like taking a walk or reading for 10 minutes before bed, will help you build your dream life and shape how you see yourself. If you are consistently showing up for yourself, you will find that you are more confident, more secure in yourself, and generally happier because you won’t be relying on other people to make you happy. You are creating your own happiness by taking care of yourself, and that is an amazing thing!

Wellness Started Feeling More Personal

Some things may be harder to start and may not feel fun at first, like starting a new workout plan or trying to eat healthier. BUT if you can find ways to make it fun, that’s the key to enjoying the journey. Mindset is also a huge part of this, which is not something that typically changes overnight.

Another tip I have is that not everything in my life gets accomplished every single day. Some days I focus on client work and work ahead for a few days. Then I can focus on my own content and brand for a few days. Then maybe I will take a day to rest and do some reading after my day job instead of working on my computer.

BUT I always prioritize my health. I try to reach my step goal every day and work out at least four days a week. I also meal prep and make sure I have healthy snacks to grab throughout the week so I am not eating junk on the go.

It’s important to figure out what your non-negotiables are and stick to those. Then anything else is a bonus!

Using a planner helps you manage and prioritize all of these things. If you need to grocery shop before you can meal prep, it may look something like this in your planner:

Tuesday – decide on meals for next week and make a grocery list

Thursday – place a grocery order

Friday – pick up groceries

Sunday – meal prep lunches and dinners

These are repeatable steps in a system that will help you stay on track with your nutrition goals. Tiny systems like this reduce stress because you’re making decisions ahead of time instead of constantly reacting to life.

How To Actually Build Systems In Your Life

My first tip is obvious, but use your planner. I don’t mean just having a planner. I mean actually using it. Use it to track your time. Notice how long certain tasks take you. Prioritize your tasks so you know what to focus on each day.

If you have learned anything about personal finance, the first thing most people say is to track where every dollar goes. You can’t control it if you don’t know where it is going. The same thing applies to your time and energy. You cannot control how you are spending your time if you don’t know what you’re spending it on.

Planning is the first step toward your dream life because it helps you become conscious of the one you are currently living. It helps get you out of autopilot.
Kaitlyn

From there, the rest is up to you. You have to decide what you want, what your dreams are, and what matters enough to you to stay up until 1:30 a.m. working on it even though you have to be at your day job by 8 a.m. I am not glorifying hustle culture by any means. I am simply suggesting that you find the thing that brings a spark into your life and fills you with energy. That’s where I would start.

That is a lot to unpack and may sound overwhelming to you right now. If it does, I created a program just for you. For practical tips, planning templates, mindset shifts, freebies, and a supportive community, you can join my signature program, YOUR LIFESTYLE REBRAND. I will help you start your planning journey and build a roadmap to the next chapter of your life. I will be supporting you every step of the way!

I Got A Library Card Last Week And It Felt Weirdly Symbolic

In the midst of all the chaos and stress of everything I have going on in my life right now, I made time to stop and get a library card, plus find a few books to check out. I have been saying for a long time that I want to read more. Every once in a while, I will buy a book or two and read some, but I usually fall off the wagon when things get busy. It’s one of those things that is easy to put on the back burner when I have so many other things to accomplish.

Getting the library card felt symbolic because even though I am super busy in my life right now, I still made time to do something for myself. I know that reading a physical book is good for me since I look at screens all day long for work. It gives my eyes a break and is a great way to wind down at night. It helps me reconnect with myself outside of work and reminds me that there is more to life than productivity.

I felt proud of myself for putting myself first in that moment.

This is just your reminder to take some time out to make life more enjoyable. We only get this one life, so do something that has been on your bucket list or your “someday maybe” list, even if it’s a small task like getting your library card.

Maybe growth isn’t supposed to feel dramatic all the time.

Maybe it looks like:

taking the walk

meal prepping the lunch

reading the book

planning the week

getting the library card

Tiny habits. Quiet systems. Small intentional choices. Slowly building a life you genuinely enjoy living.

A couple of years ago, I probably would have overlooked these tiny moments because I was so focused on the “big picture.”

Now I realize the small moments ARE the big picture.

What I’m Loving Lately

This is a new section of the blog that I am introducing to share what I’m loving while also giving you inspiration for building your dream life!

Current Read:

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Current Meal Prep:

Bowtie pasta with sausage (I used Cajun sausage), peppers, zucchini, garlic, pesto, and parmesan.
